Law employment continued to creep up in November—the sector gained 100 jobs, according to the latest jobs report. In October, the sector added 400 jobs.

Manatt, Phelps, & Phillips hired Joel Ario to work in its national healthcare practice. Ario formerly worked as director of the Office of Health Insurance Exchanges at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.

Kilpatrick Townsend formed a partnership with Saudi firm Hani Qurashi Law Firm. The partnership will help bolster Kilpatrick Townsend's practice in the Middle East. The firm also hired Tamara Daniels to work in New York City and Michael Dimino to work in Washington, D.C.

Gibson Dunn hired intellectual property lawyer Brian Buroker in Washington, D.C. and corporate lawyer John Gaffney in New York City.

White & Case will promote 21 lawyers to partner on Jan. 1, 2012.

Jones Day hired intellectual property lawyer Kelsey Nix in New York City.

Sidley Austin hired environmental lawyer James Bieke in Washington, D.C.

DLA Piper hired real estate lawyer Nina Sitzer in Chicago.

Morris, Manning & Martin hired John Jakovenko to take over as its director of human resources.

SNR Denton hired Daniel Liew to work in its Hong Kong office. He will join the firm's energy, transport, and infrastructure team.

Allen & Overy launched an office in Istanbul, Turkey.
