Attorneys interested in joining the global organization must have two years of substantial responsibility in a games industry under their belt, as well as an admittance to practice law in any jurisdiction and two recommendations from association members from other firms. One recommendation from a board member is also permissible for induction to the V.G.B.A.

Perhaps most notably, Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge has merged with Fleischman and Harding, a boutique Washington D.C. firm that focuses on communications law. The 12 attorneys, who include Aaron Fleischman, Art Harding, Seth Davidson, Larry Freedman, and Jeff Hardin, will join EAPD’s Washington office.

The firms, set to merge May 1 pending a vote by each group's partners, will continue as DLA Piper.
Fresh out of political office, former Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh has joined the D.C. office of McGuireWoods. As a partner, Bayh will be a strategic advisor to clients with government-related issues, as well as a senior advisor to the firm's public affairs branch, McGuireWoods Consulting.
